After many projects in overseas countries had been undertaken, from the 1990s onwards local, national Nehemiah Teams were formed. In 2008 these were linked together in an international network. The purpose of this network is mutual support, co-operative action, counsel (especially in understanding cross-cultural perspectives) and teamwork. We are developing common standards and, where possible, synergies in our work. The international network will grow co-operatively and new projects will be initiated as we do so. Normally each national team is registered as an official organization in its own country and is an independent legal entity. Alongside the German team, we have teams in Borneo (Indonesia/Malaysia), India, Kenya, New Zealand, Pakistan, Russia, Thailand and the Ukraine. Co-workers from more than 20 nations are involved.
